SAN MANUEL CHARITABLE GIVING: GRANT-SEEKER WORKSHOP
Since time immemorial, ancestors of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians have expressed themselves through a culture of giving. Today, the Yuhaviatam (“People of the Pines”), as they call themselves, draw upon their history, knowledge, expertise and culture to direct philanthropic giving locally in San Bernardino and Riverside counties as well as to Native causes nationwide. San Manuel is proud of the partnerships that have been established with charitable organizations and the positive impacts made in their service areas with funding by the Tribe's Charitable Giving Program. Giving priorities include: Education, Health, Economic Development and Special Projects.
Please join San Manuel's Community Outreach team as we provide a workshop to cover the basics of San Manuel’s Charitable Giving guidelines and grant application process. This workshop will deliver:
· Information on eligibility and funding exclusions
· How to write an effective grant application, including examples of good and bad responses
· Feedback on why applications do or do not succeed
· Expectations for financials, governance and program evaluation
