Featured Presentation: Volunteerism: The Intersection of Recruiting & Retaining
Cari Thomas’ passion in life has always been to serve others. From the time she was a Girl Scout, until present day, she has devoted her life to the service of others.
Cari moved to the high desert in 1992 when she married her husband Vaughn. They have 3 sons, Andrew, Ryan and Brandon whom she has devoted her life to.
After serving as an elected official for the City of Adelanto for 6 years, 4 of which as mayor, she found her true calling in life. In 2015 she was hired as the Regional Director for Inland Empire United Way where she has exemplified her love of service to others. She is constantly out in the community sharing the mission of United Way and her passion for those less fortunate.
Cari continually is finding ways to give back to the high desert. She currently serves as the President of the Adelanto Chamber, is on the board of directors for the High Desert Community Foundation, President of High Desert Opportunity, and other various committees. She is also active in her faith and finds time to serve in many capacities there along with serving in the Boy Scouts of America with her sons. She was recently awarded Volunteer of the Year from the Victor Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Cari strives every day to exemplify what is good in the high desert. She loves her community and believes in the people and businesses who chose to live, work and do business here.
