Interstate 15\, Exit "D Street/Highway 18 East" and travel East. Travel two miles through Victorville and up/down a short hill into Apple Valley. The first traffic light in Apple Valley will be Apple Valley Road. The facility is at the Northwest (left) side of the intersection of Apple Valley Road and Hwy. 18\, behind the gas station\, in the center of the strip mall. Parking is in the lot in front of the building. Please do not park in short-term spots or you will be towed. There are two Highway 18 exits. Weiner\, Senior Council\n\n	IRS Office of Chief Counsel\n\n	\n\n	Mark began working as an attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Thousand Oaks\, California in 1990\, where he remains. He specializes in exempt organization issues of the field. In 2002\, he was appointed to be a Senior Counsel. \n\n	\n\n	He handles docketed Tax Court cases\; reviews final adverse determinations\, revocations and notices of deficiency prior to their issuance\; makes recommendations to the Department of Justice\; and generally advises revenue agents conducting examinations of exempt organizations and related persons. \n\n	\n\n	Mark has had extensive involvement in national projects\, examinations\, and litigation involving exempt organization issues relating to credit counseling\, down payment assistance\, political activities\, excess benefit transactions\, supporting organizations\, churches\, unrelated business income taxes\, and charitable contributions. \n\n	Presentation will cover:\n\n	\n		\n			Acceptable business activites of section 501(c) 3 organizations.\n	\n	\n		\n			Form 990 series filing requirement\n	\n	\n		\n			Rules relating to lobbying & campaign intervention\n	\n\n\n	If you would like to highlight your member agency please contact Debbie at dacannon7@gmail.com\n\n	\n\n	Meeting Fees:\n\n	Free to MEMBERS.
